This post is about our honest Disneyland hotel Good Neighbor review of Embassy Suites Anaheim South.

When planning our Disneyland trip to celebrate my son turning 3, I wanted more than just a place to sleep—I needed a hotel that worked for our whole family.
With our experience of traveling with our son at 15 months and our most recent trip of an almost 3 year old toddler, I know first hand it may seem overwhelming to plan a trip for young families.
In this review of our stay, I hope this helps any other family who are considering staying at a Good Neighbor hotel, near Disneyland, Embassy Suites Garden Grove to be sure they made the right choice for their vacation.
From free breakfast to our spacious suite, here is our honest review of our stay.

My Mom Expectations for a Disneyland Hotel Stay
As the family planner, I went into this trip knowing exactly what I wanted in a Disneyland hotel. With a toddler, convenience, comfort, and affordability were at the top of my list. I wasn’t just searching for a place to sleep—I needed a hotel that worked with our family rhythm in mind.
Here’s what was on my checklist:
Lower nightly rates
Spacious rooms
Free breakfast options
On-site amenities
Proximity to Disneyland
Traveling with little ones means packing half your house, so the right hotel can truly make or break the trip. Embassy Suites Garden Grove promised many of these comforts, and I was eager to see if it would actually deliver.
As a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, Embassy Suites Anaheim South offers plenty of family-friendly features. Here’s what stood out to us:

Our first impression of the hotel and our room was surprising. We counted our blessings with this hotel and they certainly delivered for us & our birthday boy from the beginning.
First Impression: The hotel was neat & clean from the parking lot to the first initial greeting at the front desk.
Check-In: We checked in around 8 pm and it was a quick process. The front desk gave us directions to our room, breakfast hours and shuttle information to the Parks.

Our 2 Bedroom King Suite
The 2 Bedroom King Suite had more than enough space for us (family of 3). We brought 1 large suitcase, 2 small carry-on luggage, a stroller, and a small work bag. When we entered, there was a small living room area and dining area.
The main area is separate from the bedroom. So if you're planning on your kids staying in this area, it is perfect!
King Suite Details
✓ Sleeps up to 4 (King bed & full-size sleeper sofa).
✓ Spacious suite to spread out (feels like being at home)
Helpful Tip: You can also book this as a Double Suite (2 Queens & full-size sleeper sofa). Perfect for bigger groups!

In-Room Amenities

A Gorgeous Bathroom
The bathroom in-person was gorgeous! Online you'll see images with showers with a tub (accessible maybe?) but we were surprised with this beautiful bathroom. It had everything you needed.
Bathroom Details
✓ Includes shampoo, conditioner, body gel & lotion
✓ Non-slip mat for shower
✓ Hair dryer
✓ Extra toilet paper
✓ Tissue box
✓ Fresh towels
Overall Rating: 5/5
Quick Story: While checking-in, I overheard a conversation from another guest who requested toothpaste to be sent to their room and the front desk advised they would send it right away. This was so pleasant to hear, and it confirmed that I had made the right decision in selecting a fantastic hotel with a friendly and accommodating staff.
Shop Our Hotel Favorites: Ever love hotel toiletries so much you wish you could keep them? Same! The shampoo, conditioner, body gel & lotion were 10/10! My husband asked me if I got a picture & luckily I did because we ordered it on Amazon.
Take a piece of heaven home & grab the exact set we ordered on Amazon.

Disneyland Hotel with Free Breakfast
Made mornings so much easier with toddler-friendly options (eggs, fruit, cereal bar). For the options available and the quality of the breakfast compared to other budget-friendly options. This one was great for a quick breakfast before hopping to the Parks.
✓ Dining area was clean
✓ Food service workers were friendly & helpful
✓ Tables and layout were neatly designed (not sitting close)
✓ Food was made fresh
Helpful Tip: If you're planning on a quick breakfast & want to pass on the 30 min wait at restaurants (no offence iHop), choosing a hotel like Embassy Suites can offer you convenience and flexibility with their complimentary breakfast.
Character Dining Tip: If you are considering a Disney Character dining experience for your family, they are great! They add an extra Disney touch of magic and experience your family won't forget. It's nice to include that part of your trip and not have to worry about spending more $$$ on the days of your trip.
Character Dining Experience + Complimentary Free Breakfast = Savings $$$ (Girl Math)
Complimentary Breakfast Details
✓ Cereal bar (Cheerios, Fruit Loops)
✓ Pastries (Muffins, Bagels, Toast, Danish)
✓ Yogurt & mixed fruit bar
✓ Hot breakfast (Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage)
✓ Must Try Breakfast potatoes (sooo good)
✓ Pancakes & French Toast (every other day)
✓ Made-to-order omelets
✓ Beverage Station (Coffee, Apple juice, Orange juice, water)
Overall Rating: 5/5
Toddler Rating: 5/5
There were so many toddler-friendly options from scrambled eggs and bacon to cereal and muffins.
Tips for Breakfast
✓ If you're an early bird, grab breakfast early and take it back to your room to enjoy at your own table (if the whole party isn't ready yet). Great for time-efficiency.
✓ If you love omelets, get in line first before a line starts. I recommend leaving the room first if you are ready, so the rest of the family isn't waiting on you to start, when they are almost finished up.

The Outdoor Pool & Hot Tub
If you're planning on visiting during the warmer months, take advantage of the Outdoor Pool & Hot Tub! It's a great way to cool down and spend an evening at the pool.
Since we arrived later in the evening during check-in, spent the next 2 days at the Parks, then checked out the last day, we did not have time to use the pool. However, there were families enjoying a pool day when we checked out at 11 am.
Highly Recommended Travel Tip
✓ If you can check-in at 4 PM, do it! Use the arrival day to enjoy a pool day and grab dinner at Downtown Disney or a Buca Di Beppo (located directly on Hotels Way 2 min walk).

The Hotel Parking
At Embassy Suites, they offer self-parking for $25 per night per vehicle. From my recent booking, this pricing is a great deal and a greater majority of hotels have them.
Our experience with parking was great, we parked under a tree during our 3-night stay and had no issues.
Rating: 5/5

Proximity to Disneyland
One of the biggest perks of Embassy Suites is its location. As a Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, it’s just about a mile from Disneyland, making it super convenient for families.
For us, that short drive meant we could:
- Arrive early to Disneyland for rope drop. Enjoy our fav rides first!
- Grab lunch outside the Park while our toddler naps.
- Visit Downtown Disneyland on arrival day to grab dinner & visit World of Disney to do some pre-park shopping!
While it’s not directly on Disney property, the proximity still gave us plenty of flexibility. For a family with a toddler, being this close took a lot of stress out of our trip planning.

Shuttle Service
While Embassy Suites Anaheim South is close to Disneyland, the question is always how to get there with a toddler (and stroller) in tow.
Shuttle service to Disneyland is available for an additional fee (6$ per person per day). The shuttle pickup is located directly in front of the hotel.
Depending on your budget & rideshare rates (vehicles preferences). You can also consider rideshare as an option for your family.
For us, rideshare was hands-down the easiest option.
Here’s why it worked so well for us:
- No Shuttle Stress Meaning no folding up the stroller and juggling bags while trying to hop on a crowded bus at the end of the day.
- Extra Space We could keep the stroller intact or fold it at our own pace without rushing (huge win & no pressure)
- Less Stressful Pick-up and drop-off were simple, which mattered a lot when dealing with tired toddler meltdowns, then trying to fold up your stroller set up and the tons of new merch in bags at the end of the night. In a shuttle bus, it means work.
- Worth the Cost While it’s a bit more than shuttle fare depending on how often you think you'll be going in and out of the park each day, the convenience (and sanity) made it a solid mom-approved choice to go rideshare.
If you’re traveling with littles, strollers, or even multiple bags, rideshare is 100% the route I’d recommend over the shuttle.
Rideshare Tip: When ordering your rideshare, request dropping off at Downtown Disneyland (it's near the Disneyland hotel). For us, the security check points took less than a minute EACH DAY. Huge win!
Plus, order ahead to pick-up your Starbucks fuel in Downtown Disney!

Bonus Perk: Target Right Around the Corner
One of the biggest unexpected benefits of staying at Embassy Suites Garden Grove was its proximity to Target—just a few minutes away.
Having Target so close gave us peace of mind and made the hotel feel even more family-friendly. When traveling with littles, it’s always nice knowing help is just a short drive away.
For families, this was a lifesaver because:
Baby & Toddler Essentials – From diapers and wipes to snacks and extra sippy cups, Target runs made packing lighter and stress-free.
Food & Drinks Easy grab-and-go options, plus affordable groceries for picky eaters or late-night cravings.
Last-Minute Needs Souvenirs, sunscreen, or even an outfit change in case of spills (because toddlers).

Final Thoughts: A Family-Friendly Choice for Disneyland
Overall, choosing to stay at the Embassy Suites Anaheim South is a wonderful option for families looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable hotel near Disneyland.
With spacious suites, family-focused amenities, free breakfast, and convenient access to both the parks and nearby essentials like Target, this Good Neighbor Hotel makes traveling with kids much smoother.
If you’re planning your next Disneyland vacation, Embassy Suites offers the perfect balance of value, comfort, and family convenience—making the magic last even after you leave the park.
